The Foxconn RC4107MA motherboard is meant for Intel-based CPUs, and is based
on an ATi chipset. It supports Pentium and Celeron D processors on LGA 775
socket, and supports a maximum FSB of 800 MHz. It has two DIMM slots that can
take up to 2 GB of DDR2 667MHz RAM. The motherboard has onboard graphics, so you
don't need a separate graphics card. For expansion, it has one PCIe x16, PCIe
x1 and two PCI slots. It has 4 SATA and 2 IDE ports for the hard drives. You can
have RAID 0 and 1 functionality using SATA drives. It provides 5.1 audio
channels for audio. For connectivity, it has a 10/100M Ethernet port and 4 USB

Coming to performance, we tested the motherboard using a P4 3.4 GHz processor
with 1 GB DDR2 533 MHz RAM and a SATA hard drive. We ran PCMark 2005, 3Dmark
2005, Business Winstone 2002 and Doom 3 tests on it, which test for overall
system performance, graphics, business productivity, and gaming performance
respectively. In PCMark04, it scored 4509 and 38 in Business Winstone tests.
Comparing to the ECS RC410L motherboard that we reviewed in February this year,
it gave better performance, as ECS RC410L was able to give only 32 in Business
Winstone benchmark test. 3DMark scores of Foxconn were found to be 634 while
ECS had given 598. In Doom3, the performance was 8 fps on ultra high setting
using onboard graphics. Surprisingly, we were able to run NVIDIA 7800GT graphics
card on an ATi board and got 69 fps with it in Doom3, which is playable and
comparative to its own category of boards.
Bottomline: Overall it's a decent board for regular use.
