Get noticed when your Smartphone rings with LG Smart Lamp

LG has introduced a unique way to add glamour and glitz to your life via Smart Lamp. Connect your smartphone with the Smart Lamp and you'll be able to control various functions like on/off, setting the brightness and adjusting self timer as well among others.

With Smart Lamp, LG has made its foray in the consumer light segment but with a twist. You can pair either of Android or iOS devices with Smart Lamp via an app that functions with Bluetooth support. According to the company, the lamp is 80 per cent more energy efficient than the standard incandescent bulbs which should help users in determining their purchase decision.

The Smart Lamp uses LED technology that adds durability and efficiency, but not at the cost of brightness. LED bulbs are easier to make in different colors, but the company currently offers Smart Lamp in a Day White shade. The bulb is expected to last for 10 years with 5 hours of average usage every day. The LG Smart Lamp app can be installed on Android devices running on 4.3 Jelly Bean and above and iOS 6 or higher. Expected to be priced around $32 (approx Rs 1,950) mark, Smart Lamp will be made available in the coming months.

Smartphone is the future; there are no two ways about that, which is why more and more manufacturers are looking to boost the chances of their product faring well with the users by employing strategy of offering product add-ons. While wearable is the closest we have come to complimenting the devices, Smart Lamp seems to be viable proposition as well but does it really have a market? We'll find out soon.
