Gionee’s slim Elife S5.5 Smartphone now available for Rs 22,999

Gionee Elife S5.5 smartphone that sports 5.5 mm thickness is now available across the country for Rs 22,999. The China-based company announced this device back in March amid much fanfare and informed that the device will be available across shelves only by end of April and the brand has somewhat managed to live up to that promise. The company has taken the smartphone space in country by storm by launching highly capable devices in the form of Elife E6 and Elife E7 that are priced reasonably and with S5.5 Gionee will be looking to continue its growth.

As you might be aware, the Elife S5.5 is probably one of the thinnest smartphone in the market with 5.5mm thickness which is equally backed up with highly competent hardware. Not only is the Elife S5.5 really slim but is Gionee's first- octa-core powered device that sports a Super AMOLED full HD display over a 5 inch form factor. It packs 1.7 GHz octa-core chipset, presumably from Mediatek and 2 GB RAM.

On the camera front, the device gets a 13 MP rear and 8 MP front cameras. The phone is powered by Gionee's customized Android interface called Amigo that has its fair share of fans and detractor. Coming to the crucial part of the phone, it gets a 2300 mAh battery which might prove to be a drawback for a device as powerful as this. The phone comes in 16 GB storage option with no microSD slot that implies no expandable storage. 

At this price range, the phone has plenty of company. You have the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, Gionee's own Elife E6 and Motorola Moto X among others.
