God of War Game: How to Play in Order

Since the second generation of PlayStation gaming systems, there has been a God of War franchise.Only lately has God of War: Ragnarok graced our swanky new PlayStation 5s and 4s, and for those new to the series, there is so much you missed out on. The previous games undoubtedly impacted the industry, even though this game represents the best in terms of what a story/combat game should be.

While the most recent editions of God of War take a more grounded approach, the first three AAA God of War games had players battling enormous gods and creatures. Massive monsters are still there, but Kratos' friendship with Atreus has been given more attention in recent games.

 How to play every God of War in order?

Playing the games in order is easy. Since their publication, they have all been in order by release date. Prequels to Silent Hill are commonplace, but not here.

• PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 game God of War Ragnarök (2022)

The older games are entirely ignored and underappreciated. Fighting Zeus and all the other gods was a technological marvel for its day and pumped up every player.

The list above contains every game you can play in Kratos' whole journey through the God of War universe, except for a few that you can probably skip, such as God of War: A Call from the Wilds.
