The
much anticipated next version of Google Android operating system
‘Android Ice Cream Sandwich’ is slated to release in the month of
October or November. According to media reports, ‘Ice Cream
Sandwich’ from Google, Android 2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich is the first
version of Android that will be designed to run both on tablets and
smartphones.

The announcement was made by Google chairman Eric
Schmidt during the Dreamforce conference in San Francisco, organised
by Sales force.com.



We have a new operating system, internally known as Ice Cream
Sandwich for some reason, which is being released in
October/November, which everyone’s really excited about,” quoted
The Inquirer, Google chairman, Eric Schimdt as saying.


With
the recent announcement from the Google chairman, the developer
community can expect to create better applications using the new
version of operating system, which will unite the Android software
used in tablets and smartphones.
