Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro Debut in India

On 12 October, Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro became available for the first time in India. Last week, the latest Pixel series smartphones were presented at the Made by Google 2023 event, with the Pixel Watch 2 and redesigned Pixel Buds Pro. Google's Tensor G3 engine powers the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro and comes with up to 256GB of storage. They come with Android 14 and have hole punch panels with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The Pixel 8 has a 4,575mAh battery that supports 27W charging, while the Pixel 8 Pro has a 5,050mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging.

Google Pixel 8 Pixel 8 Pro pricing and launch offers in India

The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model costs Rs. 75,999 in India, while the one with 256GB storage costs Rs. 82,999. It is available in three colours: Hazel, Obsidian, and Rose. The Pixel 8 Pro, on the other hand, costs Rs. 1,06,999 for the 12GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration. It is available in the colours Bay, Obsidian, and Porcelain.

Starting today, new Pixel handsets will be available in India via Flipkart. As an introductory deal, the e-commerce giant offers a Rs. 8,000 immediate discount on Pixel 8 purchases made with ICICI, Kotak Mahindra, and Axis Bank cards. Customers can also receive a Rs. 3,000 discount while exchanging their previous phone.

Meanwhile, Pixel 8 Pro purchasers will receive up to Rs. 9,000 off when they pay with certain bank cards. In addition, a Rs. 4,000 exchange incentive is available. These special bank deals and exchange discounts reduce the price of the Pixel 8 to Rs. 64,999 and the cost of the Pixel 8 Pro to Rs. 93,999.

Customers who buy the Pixel 8 series smartphones can also get the new Pixel Watch 2 for Rs. 19,999 instead of Rs. 39,900 or the Pixel Buds Pro for Rs. 8,999 instead of Rs. 9,999.

The Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro ship with Android 14. The Pixel 8 has a 6.2-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixel) OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz, while the Pixel 8 Pro has a 6.7-inch Quad-HD (1,344x2,992 pixel) resolution with a refresh rate of 120Hz—Google's Tensor G3 chipset and the Titan M2 security chip power them. The Pixel 8 has 8GB of RAM, while the Pixel 8 Pro has 12GB.

The Pixel 8 sports a dual rear camera set with a 50-megapixel Samsung GN2 sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera. The Pixel 8 Pro has a triple rear camera arrangement, with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and two 48-megapixel secondary sensors. Both variants have a 10.5-megapixel front-facing camera.

Wi-Fi 6E, 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port are among the connectivity choices on the devices. An accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor are on board. In addition, for biometric authentication, there is an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The Pixel 8 comes with a 4,575mAh battery that supports 27W wired charging. The Pixel 8 Pro, on the other hand, boasts a 5050mAh battery with 30W cable charging capabilities. Both versions also support wireless charging.
