Google has confirmed the release of the Google Pixel 8 series on 4 October, just weeks after the release of the iPhone 15. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will return to the new Pixel series. While the latter will have the most modern capabilities, the Pixel 8 will still draw many customers because of its low pricing. In terms of software, both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro may have slight differences. The pair may release Android 14. There may be minimal modifications in terms of design. There may be some upgrades in terms of specifications.
Here's everything we know so far about the Google Pixel 8
Design:
According to MySmartPrice renderings and leakster OnLeaks, the incoming Pixel 8 will look similar to the Pixel 7 with the camera bar on the back and a flat display with a punch-hole cutout. The standard Pixel may continue to have dual rear cameras, while the Pro model may have three. The Pixel 8 may remain available in white and black colour variants. According to the source, the smartphone would be slimmer and lighter than its predecessor.
Display:
The vanilla model may have a smaller display as well. The Pixel 8 could have a 6.17-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 1,400nits and a pixel density of 427 ppi. Google may stick with a flat display on the standard model.
Software and performance: The Pixel may be powered by its own Tensor G3 chipset based on Samsung's Exynos. A 4,485mAh battery with support for 24W fast wired charging and 20W wireless charging is also possible. The charger will not be included in the box. Google has been adding AI and ML (machine learning) capabilities to its Pixel phones, such as live translations and photo blur, among other things. To keep ahead of the curve and bank the generative AI frenzy, the Pixel 8 may use some Google Bard features.
Cameras:
On the back, the Google Pixel 8 could have a 50-megapixel GN2 primary sensor and a 12-megapixel IMX386 ultra-wide sensor. A Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor could be included for improved subject detection. The new configuration is touted to increase light processing by 35% while enhancing HDR. On the front, an 11-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls is possible.
Price:
We shall learn the price closer to the launch event. The Google Pixel 7 with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage was priced at Rs 59,999.
