More than 185 million copies of GTA V have been sold since its debut ten years ago. Since its initial release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the game has been re-released on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, among other new hardware generations. For GTA V, there has also been an online mode.

The sequel is said to feature the series' first female protagonist, inspired by Bonnie and Clyde. According to reports, the game will take place in a fictionalized version of Miami, similar to the 2002 game GTA: Vice City.

Rockstar Games celebrates its 25th anniversary next month. Thanks to the incredible support of our players around the world, we have been able to create games that we are truly passionate about; none of this would be possible without you and we are so grateful to all of you for sharing this journey with us.

Rockstar Games was founded in 1998 with the idea that video games could become as important to culture as any form of entertainment, and we hope we've created games you'll love as we strive to be a part of that evolution. We are very excited to announce that in early December we will release the first trailer for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto.

As reported by Bloomberg News, the game is set in a fictionalized version of Miami and has two main characters, a man and a woman.

Last year, hackers released hours of early footage of Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar blamed "cyber intrusion" and said it would "properly introduce you to the next game when it's ready." Two British teenagers were convicted of hacking at a criminal trial in London earlier this year.
