Most SMBs prefer to have both single function devices such as laser printers as well as multifunction devices to address different set of printing and imaging requirements to attain an overall cost optimized solution. Hence, laser printers is kept separate from MFDs as a category this year.

As was the case last year, HP continues to be number one in the 100 to 499 employees segment. Canon bags the second spot, but is as much as 75% behind HP. Samsung barely made it to the elite Users' Choice club last year, but this year the number of respondents for the brand shows a lot of improvement, allowing it to retain its third spot. The new entrant to the club this year is Epson at number four with about 10% response. In the 500+ employees segment, we only had two players last year, HP at number one, and Canon at the second spot. This year though, we have Samsung and Epson grabbing a spot each in the Users' Choice club. Needless to mention, HP continues to rule this segment this year as well. However, Canon has something to worry about, as it moves down to the third position, giving up its last year's runners-up spot to Samsung, which was not even in the club last year. Another brand making an entry into this club is Epson with about 16% respondents.

Even though Epson has made it to the club this year, it should be concerned about the likely to shift rate, where it grosses the most with 23% existing users citing a likely future change in brand. Canon too has to make a note that even though 19% of existing users are citing a likely shift, 16% of them are eyeing HP as their likely future brand. About 15% HP users have also recorded a likely shift, but the users are not particularly looking at any specific brand for the same. Samsung has the most brand loyalty in this set, with only 13% considering a shift, but a marginal favor has been shown towards HP and Epson as their future brand.
