CyberMedia Research (CMR) cites that the decreasing price gap between single function and multifunction printers, as well as statutory requirement of photo-copies of customer ids, has triggered adoption in homes, SMBs, education and lower end retail stores like mobile stores. That said, in the 100 to 499 employees segment, HP is a clear winner by huge margins. Canon, who is at the second spot is no less than 65% behind HP. Samsung, Ricoh, and Brother have claimed the third, fourth, and fifth spots respectively. In the 500+ employees segment, HP again sits right at the top at number one. Here too, the second spot claimant, Samsung, is behind HP by as much as 76%. The third and the fourth spots in the UC club in this segment have been secured by Canon and Ricoh respectively.

Coming to brand loyalty, in the 100 to 499 employees segment, as much as 63% of Brother users have mentioned a likely shift out, with a whopping 25% each in favor of Canon and HP as future brands. Canon too has something to worry about, with a 33% likely shift out rate; a bulk of them (21%) looking at HP as their next brand. HP, which reigns in both segments, has about 23% users suggesting likely brand change, but the good news is that they don't seem to be sure about which brand to shift to. Samsung too has about 20% users likely to shift out, with as much as 13% looking at HP as their future brand. Ricoh has recorded the highest brand loyalty by its users with only 7% mentioning a likely change of brand in future.

In the 500+ employees segment, there is no massive shift out projected. About 17% of existing Canon users said they are likely to change the brand, with about 8% of them looking at HP as the future buy. The HP users, constituting the 14% likely shift out, have no clear vision of which brand to opt for. Ricoh and Samsung users have recorded a 13% and 11% likely shift out rate.
