Last year there was no unanimous winner in the data backup solutions category, but this year we have one — HP. The company has achieved this feat by dethroning IBM from its position as the ruling brand in the 500+ employees segment.

In the 100 to 499 employees segment, IBM retains its last year's spot at the second position. IBM has also recorded the highest brand loyalty in this segment with 90% of its existing users choosing to continue with it in the future as well. Seagate claims the third spot in this year's survey, which is the same as last year. Dell has ousted Tanberg from its last year's position, and positioned itself at the fourth spot. As a result, Tanberg comes at the last spot in the club for this segment. There is not much brand loyalty that the users are citing in this segment, with an exception of IBM. Tanberg users have given it a score of 78%, while 75% HP users are sure about sticking with the brand. The lowest confidence was shown by Seagate and Dell users, giving them a score of 70% and 71% brand loyalty respectively.

In the 500+ employees segment for this category, the major upset has been for IBM which has slipped down to find itself in the second position this year. IBM has also lost in terms of brand loyalty this year at 76%, as compared to 92% last year. HP with its reliability of product and brand value moved to the top position in this segment. HP also records the highest brand loyalty in this segment, with only 9% users saying that they were likely shift to some other brand. Dell continues to see itself in the third spot of the Users' Choice club in this segment, and also enjoys about 85% brand loyalty; but about 8% of its users said that they were likely to shift to Toshiba in the near future. EMC-Legato has moved up one position to secure the fourth spot for itself this year, and has a brand loyalty recorded at 86% which is more than the 80% that it had last year.
