This is the other laptop from HCL's ME series for
professionals that we tested in our labs. But when we compared the design of
Series 54 with Series 40 there is a lot of difference. The Series 54 notebook
comes in the dual shade of brown and black with screen size of 14” and a sturdy
design.
The unique feature that stands out in Series 54 is the
presence of a shortcut key on the touch pad. Though this is a great feature but
at times you might accidently activate short cut keys when you don't need them.
Besides all the 'ME' features we discussed in Series 40, other noteworthy
features of Series 54 notebook include a comfortable keyboard with big keys for
typing comfort, all necessary ports, and biometric security in form of a finger
print scanner.
Though this Series 54 notebook with a weight of 2.5 Kg is
towards lighter side, the battery backup of just 2 hrs and 31 minutes is a bit
low. In other tests, we tested its graphics and overall performance; and it gave
1545 score in 3D Mark and 4747 score in PC Mark benchmarks respectively. These
scores make this machine good enough for both professional and personal usage.

Bottomline: The notebook delivers great performance
and has a compact design. Go for it if you need a notebook for both home and
office use.
