Method 1: Automatically backup and restore

Open your WhatsApp messenger, then press the Menu key and tap the settings as shown in the image.

STEP 2: Next, tap the Chat and calls settings to open the settings menu.

STEP 3: Here, you will find the option called Backup Conversation. Just select that option, it will backup your WhatsApp messages. Now your WhatsApp messages have been backed up.

Now it’s time restore it on the same type of Android device

STEP 1: If you have deleted WhatsApp from your device accidently or you deleted it for some reason, then your data will be lost but If you have any recent backup copy then you recover it. Download WhatsApp from Google Play Store and install on your smartphone.

STEP 2: Now Open WhatsApp messenger, the Welcome screen will appear. Just click on ‘I Agree’ and continue.

STEP 3: After your mobile number verification a pop-screen will appear asking you that make you want to restore your WhatsApp message. Just tap to restore.

How to backup and restore it manually for some  other Android phone.

STEP1: Connect your Android Smartphone to your PC or laptop through a USB cable and turn on USB storage. Open your phone storage and search for the folder ‘WhatsApp’. If you are unable to find it, then it will be residing on the external storage SD card. Copy that complete folder on your laptop.

STEP 2: You already have a WhatsApp backup file on your computer. Download the WhatsApp file on your newly bought smartphone to restore messages.

STEP 3: Next connect your phone to the PC or laptop which already has your WhatsApp backup file. On the phone, if the WhatsApp folder is not found on the internal storage, then you should look for it in the external storage.

STEP 4: Finally, rename or delete WhatsApp folders on the phone storage and copy the backup folder on the same location. Now disconnect your phone and start the number verification process on WhatsApp. You will get your WhatsApp chat on your new phone.
