PCQ Bureau
New Update

The MFD by HP, which comes with a memory card reader, is similar to HP’s PSC 2210 that we reviewed in May 2003 (page 78). The differences between the two being that the 2310 doesn’t have fax capabilities and an inbuilt adapter. The printer supports all popular flash cards and is compact and easy to handle. It uses a thermal inkjet printer and a flatbed scanner and can work even without PC connectivity.

The quality of the prints was good without any banding. The colors printed were also vibrant. It took 8 secs to print a mono A4 page in draft mode and 18 secs for a regular mode print out at 600X600 dpi resolution. It took 5 mins and 33 secs to print a full-page borderless A4 sized color image. In scanning, it took 23 secs to scan an A4 sheet in mono and 6 mins in color (in best mode).

The paper tray has a capacity of 150 pages and can handle media types such as envelopes, transparencies, greeting cards, labels and iron-on transfers. The printer comes with two CDs having drivers for Windows and Mac, and HP Director for PSC 2300 software to manage and use the product. Overall, a well-priced, well performing

MFD.
