Huawei recently held an event in China, where it revealed its latest foldable phone. Huawei has come with an affordable foldable phone, the Huawei Pocket S. A Product which is cheaper than its counterpart in the market, the Galaxy Z Flip 4. It is not only cheaper but also the most affordable foldable phone on the market.
Specifications
- The inner screen is a 6.9” OLED with a resolution of 2790 x 1188 pixels.
- It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 1440Hz PWM, as well as a 300Hz touch sampling rate.
- The chipset is a Snapdragon 778G, limited to LTE connectivity.
- The selfie camera is nested inside a punch hole and has the same 10.7 MP sensor as the P50 Pocket.
- The cover hosts a 40 MP shooter with an RYYB sensor and f/1.8 lens, assisted by a 13 MP ultrawide-angle camera.
- The 32MP sensor from the P50 Pocket is replaced with a sensor for laser AF.
Huawei Pocket S is a more affordable clamshell with Snapdragon 778G chipset. But it is a disappointment that is not 5G compatible due to US sanctions on Huawei and has a user interface of Harmony OS 3.0 instead of Android which means that the phone will initially be available in China only.
It comes with plenty of pre-installed apps for the local audience and offers customizations for the cover screen’s AOD capabilities.
The Huawei Pocket S has an ultra-thin bendable graphite sheet for improving cooling capabilities. There is a 4,000 mAh battery with 40W fast charging. The company promised the wing mechanism of the hinge has been opened and closed 400,000 times in testing to ensure its durability.
Huawei offers the Pocket S comes in five colours, all of them plain, unlike the P50 Pocket with its fancy gradients and patterns. Users can purchase the foldable in Mint Green, Gold Yellow, Rose Pink, Ice Crystal Blue, and Black.
