Huawei Launches Mate X5 Foldable Phone in China; Soon to Launch Globally

A new foldable smartphone from Huawei called the Mate X5 debuted recently and features a similar design to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. It has a triple back camera arrangement, a 7.85-inch OLED primary display, a 6.4-inch OLED cover display, up to 16GB of RAM, and a battery capacity of more than 5,000mAh. Will Huawei return to the global market?

Huawei has recently launched several phones in its home country, but has not officially announced plans to return to the global market. However, according to a report by IT Home, the smartphone brand now limited to China is planning to return to the global smartphone market, starting from the domestic market and then expanding to the international market as well.

It is important to highlight that in 2019-2020, the brand faced major challenges in accessing key technology from the United States, such as Google's Android operating system and key components such as semiconductors.

This had a significant negative impact on Huawei's global smartphone business. Additionally, according to reports, some countries have expressed concerns that Huawei products may contain deliberate security holes that the Chinese government could exploit for surveillance.

Huawei Mate X5 foldable Phone price, Availability information

Huawei is yet to reveal the exact price of the Mate X5, but Chinese users can pre-book the device through VMall by paying CNY 1,000 (roughly Rs. 11,386). The newly announced foldable smartphone is expected to go on sale from September 15.

The Huawei Mate X5 is available in Feather Black, Feather White, Feather Gold, Green Mountain Dai and Phantom Purple.
