Humane Ai Pin from March 2024

Sam Altman-backed Humane introduced the cutting-edge AI-based device Ai Pin with ChatGPT functionality in the US in November. The Humane Ai Pin will start to be delivered in the US in March 2023, the business has now stated, citing the tremendous reaction it has got from consumers. As of right now, there's no official word on whether or not India will get it.

"Everyone at Humane is eager for you to use your Ai Pin, the first wearable computer driven by artificial intelligence. We are immensely appreciative of the zeal and encouragement, particularly from our initial backers. Priority order holders will receive their AI Pins first when we start shipping in March as a way of saying thank you for your early support, “company said.

Ai Pin features and price

The new Ai Pin, priced at $699 (about Rs. 58,137, the same as the premium phone), is a small 34-gram square smart wearable that can be magnetically attached to clothing. It comes with a removable battery booster that allows the Ai Pin to last all day.

It has a built-in 13-megapixel camera and a small projector to manually navigate its user interface. The company is called Laser Ink Display and the user can do things like tilt and roll their hand to interact with the device and close your fingers to make a choice.

The device is powered by an unnamed Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset and runs on Cosmos OS with OpenAI and ChatGPT 4.0 support.

Users can  interact with Ai Pin by voice to get  the latest information or even text or make calls, as long as they subscribe to T-Mobile's cellular service for $24 (roughly Rs. 1,996) a month. To activate voice assistance, users simply tap and drag their finger on the AI Pinn touch pad.

How could this change the way you use your smartphone?

It is turned off and does not record audio or video when it is not interacting with its owner. It has a safety LED light called Trust Light which lights up to indicate that it is listening or recording video.

Humane Ai Pin's first priority is to replace smartphones and end the problems of excessive screen time that cause long-term effects on the eyes, such as retinal cell damage that leads to problems such as age-related macular degeneration.

The thought process behind the Humane Ai Pin is logical and promising, but time will tell if this product is a game changer or not. Ai Pin takes time to get used to, whether it's just the sound and the somewhat complex gesture-based interface.

Yes, it has generated a lot of interest on social media platforms, but only among techies who are interested in trying out new devices. But ordinary consumers will decide the fate of Ai Pin in the near future.
