Safety is a big concern in country like India which is why iBall Uddaan is one such effort from the company to cater to a very basic but critical requirement. It comes in white and pink color targeting the female gender. The phone sports a 5 inch 854x480pixels display that has become a standard norm for entry-level devices. The display is somewhat bright but sunlight readability is a big no-no.
Viewing angles on 5 inch devices have never been an issue and Udaan is no different. The phone is built over a plastic body which for some reason feels heavy while holding. It packs a dual-core chipset clubbed with 512 MB RAM that satisfies usage up to basic level and surprisingly, we came across no heating or lagging issues. The benchmark results illustrate the mid-range nature of the device. Games like Subway Surfer offered a good experience, while the audio quality of speaker is average at best.
It comes fitted with an 8 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras. Don't get blown by the resolution, the quality is quite average and more on the lines of 3.2 MP rather than 8 MP.
Now coming to the main USP of the phone-the emergency button placed at the back-it is an SOS button which comes in red color and functions via SOS app on the phone which can be configured by heading to settings- options, to set the emergency number/ message number or call number and even select the type of alarm you need. By clicking on the button, the phone's app starts a call that reaches the emergency number and even sends a message to the same. The phone offers nominal battery life of up to 12 hours on single charge which is average for a device these days.
