If you were to deploy your own manpower to do everything yourself, the cost implications for it would be mind blowing. That’s where an implementation partner becomes imperative. IBM takes the honors for the best implementation partner second year in running.

The remaining ranks have completely gone haywire this time. Wipro, which was in the runner up’s position last year has slipped to the fourth rank. HP moves to the runner-up position followed by TCS. Incidentally, these two were behind Wipro last year. Could it have happened because of the change in top management at Wipro this year? Though Wipro was quick to react to this situation, you never know. So let’s see what happens next year.

Manufacturing BPO
/ ITES / ITS
BFSI
Brand Rank Brand Rank Brand Rank
IBM 1 IBM 1 IBM 1
HP 2 Wipro 1 TCS 2
TCS 3 HP 2 Wipro 2
Wipro 4 TCS 3 HP 3
HCL 5 Microsoft 4 Infosys 3
Microsoft 6   HCL 4
Infosys 7 Microsoft 5

If we look at the break-up of votes by industry verticals, things become quite clear. IBM remains the first choice across manufacturing, BPO, BFSI, and the services segment. However, it’s the second choice when it comes to communications and media companies. Wipro manages to be the second choice in the BPO segment, which doesn’t come as a surprise since the company has been fairly active in this segment lately. TCS takes the second position in the BFSI segment. This is interesting, because Infosys, which deals largely in the banking segment shares the third spot with HP in this segment. HP was the second most preferred choice by the manufacturing segment for its IT implementations. It also remained the second partner of choice in the services industry. Two Indian implementation partners have dropped out of the ranking this year. These were Tata Infotech and CMS.
