ICICI Bank : Peoplesoft Implementation

Implementing even a single automation system across a financial institution

is frought with a lot of risk and challenges. So you can imagine how nightmarish

it would have been to implement an integrated HRMS in one of the largest banks

in country. ICICI Bank has branches all across the globe. A majority of

countries where ICICI Bank is operational had a manual system prior to this

implementation, so all their requirements had to be met making scope for this

implementation very huge. This implementation caters to 36,000 employees of

various verticals for 3 shifts in 18 countries from Singapore to Canada. These

countries being in different continents (different time zones) and gulf

countries working on Sundays the system needed to be operational 24x7 in the

truest sense. Also, the labour laws, rules, regulation and year end calendars

are different for all these countries further complicating any new

implementation.

Further to this, data migration from 27 legacy systems of the past 10 years was

one more concern. Business rules of 18 countries, various business verticals and

merged entities had to be configured into the system in all modules that needed

substantial effort in documenting business rules. Integration with 50+

applications needed to be taken care of without any disruption. All these

concerns were taken care off with customized implementation of Peoplesoft HRMS

that automated most of the human resource activities.
