The company hopes to introduce the India-developed platform to global drone operators with the global launch of Skye UTM at CES 2023. Additionally, Skye Air Mobility recently crossed the one million package delivery mark using drones.

Skye UTM

It is a new proprietary UTM platform that Skye Air is introducing to India, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, and other markets. One of the world's most advanced UTM platforms, Skye UTM provides numerous layers of data for UAS operators and businesses to use when flying in urban or rural environments.

In order to fulfill the purpose of manned aviation, legacy ATM (Air Traffic Management) companies implement solutions that require ATC (Air Traffic Controller) communication with the aircraft and the pilot aboard.

However, for UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems), a traffic management solution that is more comprehensive, autonomous, and effective is required. This solution needs to be able to communicate with the UAS and offer suggestions for improving flight safety.

"It’s a great opportunity to showcase the India-developed Skye UTM at a global platform like CES 2023," stated Ankit Kumar, CEO of Skye Air Mobility. Skye UTM is well-positioned to provide safer skies for all, and we believe this is the right time to enter the market. The Skye UTM offers ground risk assessment in addition to airspace awareness, resulting in tunnel-based navigation for increased safety.

"The platform will be available for commercial use in India and the United Arab Emirates beginning in the middle of January. The US and other markets will follow in the middle of 2023." The need for safer skies cannot be overstated in light of the increasing use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in a variety of applications worldwide. He continued, "The proprietary tunnel-based navigation is positioned to assist operators in flying with greater ease and safety."

The platform Skye UTM integrates with the UAS and stores more than 255 parameters of the UAS' movements in its "Blackbox," which is a published systematic description of the entire flight. This provides an answer to these requirements.

In addition, the platform provides the first three-dimensional view of UAS airspace and operations and regulations mapping servers that display real-time UAS movements, verified paths, and the most recent airspace status.

The Skye UTM platform's low-latency, real-time infrastructure ensures that we are aware of how each UAS is using the airspace, can forecast the next 50 seconds of flights, and can consequently preserve the airspace's integrity.

Skye UTM asserts that it is the only UAS traffic management platform in India designed to improve all drone operators' airspace navigation, risk assessment, connectivity, and traffic management. Up to this point, Skye UTM has assisted with more than 300 successful BVLOS drone flights.
