Till last year, this segment was a two horse race between iLeap and ShreeLipi. This year, however, there are two new entrants: MS Word-based Indian language software and Akruti. MS Word-based software, in fact, got enough votes to get second spot. The top spot is retained by iLeap, who’s been the winner in this category since 1997.
Most of the support for iLeap came from homes, while for MS Word-based software from large companies. Shree Lipi is a favorite among software companies. Most people who intend to buy Indian language software rate good quality as the prime criterion. iLeap was rated as a well known brand by its voters, ShreeLipi scored on low price, MS Word-based software scored for better service and good quality.
