The iPhone 5C model has 4-inch retina display and also has a higher-capacity battery than previous iPhones. It's powered by A6 chip. The entire back and sides are made from a single part. So, you won't see joints. It's got a 8mp camera on the rear, and comes in Blue/white/red/yellow/green.

The new iPhone 5S includes new A7 64-bit chip and Apple describes the phone as "the first 64-bit smartphone in the world.". The device's CPU and graphics are twice as fast as the iPhone 5, says Phil Schiller, senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Apple.

Apple also intros a new chip called the M7 that works along with the A7. The M7 is a ‘motion processor' which continuously measures motion data, accelerometer, and gestural data.

The flash in the iPhone 5S has two LEDs - one white, one amber. It analyzes the

lighting in the room, and adjusts the color of the flash accordingly. The new camera app does a lot for you. It sets light balance, and exposure before you even take a picture. It also creates a dynamic local tone map around the image. When you do take a picture, it automatically finds the sharpest of multiple pictures. The 5S also does auto-image stabilization taking multiple photos at once, and combining the sharpest parts of each image.

The big highlight of 5S model is the much talked about one which they call Touch ID. This reads your fingerprint thus making your device even more secure.

‘We've taken touch to the next logical place with Touch ID, the fingerprint identity sensor. Your fingerprint is the perfect password. You always have it with you. And no one can ever guess what it is. But beyond that, it just made sense to us that your phone should recognize you,' say Apple.

The Touch ID fingerprint sensor is capacitive, 170 microns thin, has a 500 ppi resolution, scans sub-epidermal skin layers, and has 360 degree readability (no matter how you train the sensor to read your finger, it can read it from any rotation), says Apple.

The Touch ID sensor will be built into the home button. The home button is now made of laser-cut sapphire crystal, surrounded by a stainless steel detection ring on top of the touch ID sensor. Now simply touch the home button to unlock your phone and you can use this to make iTunes purchases (sans typing your password).

All fingerprint data is encrypted and locked in the A7 chip. It's secure and not directly accessible by software. And it is not stored on Apple's servers and never backed up to iCloud, claims Apple.

Another all-new camera feature is what they call ‘slow-mo'. The slo-mo feature on iPhone 5s lets you capture video at 120 frames per second in 720p. You can select the portion you want to slow down, to play back at slow speed. You can change which part is in slow motion anytime, and even share it with your friends. This will work outside the regular camera app.

iPhone 5C will go up for pre order on September 13th while both devices will go on sale on Sept 20th. You can order it on Sept 20th in the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, United Kingdom.
