The iPhone SE 4 is predicted to be released as the successor to Apple's most cheap iPhone, the iPhone SE (2022). While previous "SE" versions used the same chassis as the iPhone 8, the fourth model in the series is believed to be the first to feature a contemporary design. According to a new claim, the iPhone SE 4 will have a larger battery than its predecessors, which implies it will have battery life comparable to Apple's normal models.

Apple is testing a battery for the fourth-generation iPhone SE.

According to an unknown source, Apple is testing a battery for the fourth-generation iPhone SE — internally referred to as D59 — that is identical to the one used in the iPhone 14. Last year, Apple released five smartphone models: the iPhone SE (2022), the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Plus, the iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

According to the source, Apple's incomplete prototypes of the iPhone SE 4 have been outfitted with Apple's A2863 battery – the iPhone 14 has the same battery. Previous iPhone 14 teardowns indicated that the handset has a 3,279mAh battery, significantly more significant than the 2,108mAh battery on the iPhone SE (2022). Apple typically does not publicise the battery capacities of its handsets.

The battery isn't the only change slated for the iPhone SE 4

The battery isn't the only change slated for the iPhone SE 4; the device will also reportedly include the same Action button used on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max earlier this year. According to a recent claim, Apple will replace the mute function on all iPhone 16 models next year with a programmable button.

Another rumoured hardware update for the iPhone SE 4 is adding a USB Type-C connection. Apple's next smartphone is expected to include a modern USB connector to comply with the EU's standard charger regulations — the iPhone 15 series was the company's first device to have a USB Type-C port.
