iQoo 12 5G's India's first non-Pixel smartphone: To Showcase the Power of Android 14-Based Funtouch OS 14

On 7 November, the iQoo 12 series was unveiled globally. The iQoo 12 and iQoo 12 Pro are among the models available. The base model has long been planned to go on sale in India on 12 December. However, there has yet to be an indication of the arrival of the high-end Pro model in India. The standard iQoo 12 will come with Qualcomm's newest CPU and a 50-megapixel triple rear camera setup. It is expected to succeed the iQoo 11 5G, which debuted in China in December 2022 and in India in January of this year. The business has now revealed the operating system and availability of the handset.

The iQoo 12 5G will launch in India with Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14, making it the country's first non-Pixel smartphone to ship with Android 14 out of the box. Other devices, such as the Galaxy S23, have received Android 14-based updates since Google published the operating system version earlier this October.

According to an iQoo press release, the iQoo 12 5G will be available in the country solely through Amazon and the official iQoo e-store. The phone's microsite on Amazon and the website are now operational.

 iQoo 12 5G: Price

The iQoo 12 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB variants are priced at CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs. 45,000) and CNY 4,299 (about Rs. 50,00) in China, respectively. The top-of-the-line 16GB RAM + 1TB model costs CNY 4,699 (about Rs. 53,000). In China, the model is offered in three colour schemes: Burning Way, Legend Edition, and Track Version (translated). The Track Edition has a BMW Motorsport-inspired finish. The price of the Indian phone model is unknown, although it is likely to have specifications similar to its Chinese counterpart.

 iQoo 12 5G: Specifications

The iQoo 12 5G features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K (1,260x2,800 pixel) resolution, a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The monitor also supports HDR10+. In India, the iQoo 12 handset will be powered by an octa-core 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, the same as the Chinese version, and paired with an Adreno 750 GPU.

The iQoo 12 5G has a 50-megapixel 1/1.3-inch primary sensor, a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto shooter with 100X digital zoom, and a 50-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens in the photography area. The phone also has a front-facing camera with a 16-megapixel sensor. The iQoo 12 5G phone has a 5,000mAh battery and supports 120W wired fast charging.  iQoo 12 5G measures 163.22mm x 75.88mm x 8.10mm and weighs 203 grams, with an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.
