The iQoo 12 and iQoo 12 Pro have been confirmed for release in China next month. The Vivo sub-brand has verified the debut of the new iQoo smartphones in China on Wednesday (25 October) via Weibo. The iQoo 12 and iQoo 12 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The iQoo 12 will be the first smartphone in India to feature Qualcomm's new-generation SoC. The iQoo 12 series is rumoured to run on the Android 14 operating system and will have displays with a refresh rate of 144Hz. They are expected to include three back cameras.
iQoo 12 and iQoo 12 Pro: Release Date
On 7 November, the iQoo 12 and iQoo 12 Pro will be released. According to a teaser poster the company provided (in Chinese) on Weibo, the launch ceremony will take place in China at 7pm local time (4:30pm IST). The iQoo 12 series will be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. It would be the first phone to feature the new SoC. This week's Snapdragon Summit introduced the company's flagship mobile chip. It is the successor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and is billed as the first mobile platform centred on generative AI. The CPU has a single core with a maximum clock speed of 3.3GHz and supports Wi-Fi 7 and dual-band wireless.
Meanwhile, iQoo India CEO Nipun Marya hinted at the iQoo 12 5G's coming into the nation via an X post. He revealed that it will be India's first phone to include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
iQoo 12: Specifications
The iQoo 12 range will likely include a dedicated display processor with hardware-accelerated ray tracing for enhanced gaming visuals. PUBG Mobile, PUBG New State, Genshin Impact, and LoL Mobile will probably run 144 frames per second on the following handsets.
According to previous rumours, the iQoo 12 and iQoo 12 Pro will have up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. They could launch with Android 14 and have 2K Samsung E7 AMOLED panels with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The iQoo 12 series is expected to have three rear cameras:
- A 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50H sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS)
- A 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens
- A 64-megapixel OV64B telephoto sensor with 3x zoom and OIS support
The standard iQoo 12 is rumoured to include a 4,880mAh dual-cell battery with 120W fast charging capabilities. The iQoo 12 Pro could have a larger 4,980mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging capability.
