Irevna, a division of CRISIL : S-M-A-R-T Routing System

The company's business community carried out multiple business deliveries
using the Internet. Irevna has offices and delivery centers at multiple
locations where Internet connection is provided by different Internet Service
Providers (ISPs). Managing availability in this scenario was a challenge. It was
also difficult to ensure high Internet and mail server availability as well as
VPN tunnels up time. The problems in the service provider network or their
upstream provider creates frequent disconnection and tardiness in accessing the
client applications. Internet bandwidth available in all locations is not
utilized optimally and no automatic fail-over abruptly disconnect client
application. The key challenge faced was the complex deployment of PfR using
Fluke PfR Manager. Another key requirement being design of a real time best path
routing system that completely bypasses service provider dependency for best
routing path for any destinations, which would give better performance giving
more productivity environment for business community.

After implementing this, Irevna saw a significant difference from the plain BGP
environment in terms of load distribution and the applications that got routed
through the best performing ISP path. As a corollary, Irevna is now able to
offer a much higher SLA and secured environment to its customers and employees.
