Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning came out in 2012 and was very well received. The Action RPG was praised for its combat mechanics and it sold well over a million copies, which is huge for a new IP from a new studio. But in this case, 38 Studios, founded by baseball player Curt Schilling, went bankrupt due to huge ambitions for a gaming studio that was just starting out. Moreover, the State of Rhode Island had lent quite a huge amount to the studio in return for their promise of providing 450 new jobs. By the end of it, people lost their jobs, the State of Rhode Island sued 38 Studios, an out of court settlement was done and Curt Schilling now works for the infamous and alt right website Breitbart. But it seems like the series has been given a new chance. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Remaster has finally been confirmed.
Originally it was a leak where the listing for the remake was inadvertently made live on Microsoft store. THQ Nordic, which bought the rights to the series and the 38 Studios admitted so and also confirmed the remaster. The Microsoft page is for the game is already up as well. The release date is being put at 18th August. And the remaster is being called Kingdoms of AmalurL Re-Reckoning.
The rumours are true! Prepare for a Re-Reckoning, because Kingdoms of Amalur is coming back.

Kingdoms of Amalur’s story and world was developed by New York Times bestselling author R.A Salvatore, who is said to have already made lore spanning 10,000 years, the art was done by the legendary Tod Macfarlane and 38 studios had also brought the lead designer of Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Ken Rolston on board. Whether the or not we will see new games in the series is unknown but this does give us hope.
