Kobo Touch is the more affordable e-reader option with
fewer features.
Based on the same 6-inch XGA e-ink display, the Touch comes with a display of 800x600 pixels resolution which is expectedly lower than the display on Kobo Glo. The device's boot up time is quick and loads up a book fairly quickly. One can can read books from where you last paused or the time when the device went on sleep mode.
The device is sufficiently loaded with features like multiple dictionaries, bookmarks, font customisation and touch options to make browsing while reading more comfortable. The screen is fairly comfortable to touch and read as long as there is enough ambient light. That said, we did observe occasional lag that lasted merely seconds especially while flipping around pages. Unlike the Glo, Touch requires further lighting to make reading on the device more enjoyable. The touchscreen was not as responsive as one would expect and there is a noticeable lag in page turning or responsiveness of the user interface as mentioned above. Kobo has offered microSD slot for storage expansion. Kobo has packed a 1000 mAh Li-ion battery on the Touch which can easily last up to a month on single charge which is more than sufficient for on-the-go readers.
