New Update

Kotak Mahindra Bank was having data centers distributed at different

geographical locations and managed by different teams. Users in Mumbai were also

spread across various geographical locations. All of this was resulting in

duplication of network and data center infrastructure besides other resources,

over a number of locations and consequently the associated costs. The project

was taken to reduce higher operational costs due to maintenance of several

parallel infrastructure, to improve own processes and consistency in process

delivery, and to improve work place synergies and resource utilization. A

converged data and voice network for a nine storey, 5 lakh square feet facility

was developed with common converged infrastructure for bank and its

subsidiaries. Proper segregation of network for various departments in Bank as

well as its subsidiaries as per specific regulatory requirements was done. With

this consolidation users from any group company are now able to move anywhere

across the campus without any reconfiguration being required on their laptops. Also, the same workstation gets configured automatically to switch between

networks of various subsidiaries based on existing Active Directory credentials

of the user. As a security measure, automatic pre login check for updated

antivirus, OS patches, and compliance related checks on end user workstations

are done prior to their entry in production network.
