New Update

A low-cost, compact & lightweight and network-capable monochrome laser printer for home and small office use. The printer installation proved easy. You just need to connect the USB cable with PC and run the driver setup file and you are done. With this printer, you have the facility of connecting and getting prints through Ethernet. As the device is not multi-function, it helps the printer to be compact (14x11x9 inches) and lightweight (6.6 Kg). There are only three buttons (quiet mode, cancel & go) on the control panel. The printer is powered by 390MHz arm

processor with 32 MB memory which is sufficient for network printing.

The Kyocera FS-1060DN is capable of holding 250 sheets in its input tray and 150 sheets in the output tray. The tests for checking the printing performance include

standard test page ISO 19752. We gave the print command for a set of 100 pages. It took 9 sec to print the first page while a total of 19 pages in a minute were recorded. The maximum resolution supported for the print is 1200x1200dpi. Though it supports duplex printing, it cannot be used for wireless, USB or cloud based printing which is the norm with most printers these days. The duty cycle is about 20,000 pages. The maximum number of pages possible from one set of cartridge is about 3,000 which means the cost per page is about Rs 1.50. Overall, a good printer but in the same price the HP Laserjet Pro 1218 nfs (reviewed in the current issue) could be a better option.
