This 2.1 set has an output of 25W RMS (15W subwoofer, 2x5W satellites). The subwoofer is encased in wood. One satellite has a volume control and headphone jack, which can be inconvenient if the speakers are at a distance. There are no bass/treble controls. These produce good sound overall, but there is one big flaw. At about 100-150 Hz (explosions, lower frequencies of a bass guitar), the sub hits its resonant frequency and actually starts moving across the floor. This vibration produces a loud, unpleasant sound that can drown out the actual sound. Otherwise, sound is smooth and evenly spread across the spectrum.
