Unlike laser printers, an LED printer's heads have no moving parts, thus making it more reliable and compact.
The control panel for the printer is simple with basic LED-based error info about the status of printer cartridges, paper jams, etc. At the back is a single USB socket, as the 1250c has no network support. To use the printer, you have to fold the front panel down. This reveals a 150-sheet feed tray. The output tray flips open from the top cover to hold documents as they come out. The right side of the printer opens a cover to reveal a stack of four cartridges which can be easily replaced.
Print quality is very good and consistent. The text in black is easily legible and colors are quite vibrant. We observed a speed of 11 PPM for B&W text-based documents and 8 PPM for images and color docs. The printer is not very costly as compared to other LED-types but as expected, the black toner costs Rs 5k while the color ones come at Rs 5600 apiece.
Bottomline: An easy to use, quality colour LED printer which also saves on space in your office.
