M72e is an entry level desktop, mainly for the educational purposes and caters to SMEs, home users and students. When you see it for the first time, you can’t stop yourself from admiring the form-factor and design of this tiny desktop. It is very compact and measures 7 x 1.5 x 7 inches. Interestingly, Lenovo has designed it such that its overall volume is “1-Litre”.

The optical drive is attached to desktop with the help of USB cable and can also be fastened to the body using two thumb screws. The rubber end at the bottom helps this machine to not get displaced from its position.

The rear panel of the PC has a total of three USB 2.0 ports, VGA and DisplayPort outputs. The front has two more USB 2.0 ports, headphone and mic jacks, and status indicators. You also get an optical mouse and keyboard with this device.

Based on Windows 7, it is powered by Intel Core i5-3470 processor, 4 GB RAM and a 500 GB hard disk. For connectivity, there is an Ethernet port but no WiFi or Bluetooth.

Intel Core i5 processor made its presence felt in the benchmark performance test that we ran on this device. In the PCMark 7 benchmark, it got a score of 2674 which means that the CPU is good enough to handle all your applications barring graphics.

In 3DMark 2006, it scored 3400 which is par for the course. The device has Intel HD 2000 Graphics which cannot handle heavy graphics applications though. However, you wont face any problem during media playback or while watching videos.
