Despite the company's keen interest in smartphones since purchasing Motorola, Lenovo's greatest success remains in the PC market. Since then, the Chinese manufacturer has produced several phones, including the fantastic Legion gaming phones, while Moto has remained a well-known and well-established brand.

When is the ThinkPhone expected to hit the market?

According to the most recent reports, the release of an alleged Lenovo ThinkPhone is expected to occur next year, which should be treated with caution until official confirmation. It would be the Chinese company's debut smartphone under this name and ought to be a top model.

Notably, there are reports that one of the essential smartphones for 2023, code-named Bronco, would be rebranded. It should be about the upcoming Motorola Edge 40, about which several rumours have already circulated online. A further release of the smartphone under the Lenovo ThinkPhone is also probable. This time, Blass has made a pre-release marketing render available, and it has the 'ThinkPhone' branding. The gadget also sports a flat display with a front-facing camera centred in the hole in the middle, three rear-facing cameras built into a curved back panel, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Company's Vision

In other words, Lenovo's original plan was to engulf the Motorola brand while concentrating on its own entirely. Moto carried on with its business while the Asian company kept making computers. It was noted that the Legion parenthesis was an effort to forcibly invade the smartphone gaming market by leveraging the name of the renowned PC series.

Expected Technical Specifications

Interestingly, the latter's design leads one to believe that the ThinkPhone does not have an IPS display but rather an AMOLED or OLED one. A display with up to 12 GB of RAM, 50 MP main, 13 MP ultra-wide-angle, 2 MP depth, and 16 MP front-facing cameras would reportedly output at 1080p. The ThinkPhone and its Motorola counterpart may ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 rather than the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. The ThinkPhone is anticipated to be released by Lenovo in 2023, while it is unknown in which areas the phone will be sold.

Conclusion

Lenovo is committed to going forward with smartphones under the ThinkPad name. Being cautious is a wise idea; the Lenovo ThinkPhone's actual arrival is unknown, so we are keeping an eye out for updates.
