Leonia Convention City : Harnessing the Max out of IP

LEONIA Back bone Infrastructure project was carried out by Allied Telesis

through its implementation partner Leotech at the Leonia convention city spread

across 800 acres.



The primary challenge here was to build a reliable and robust back bone
infrastructure to deliver any IP based service with high agility and

transparency on the same back bone which includes IP Triple play solution with

future scalability and address all there future bandwidth demands.

The suite of hardware deployments included a 100% Redundant primary and back

up Data centre, Metro E Transport on 10G back bone, Gigabit Access layer

supporting converged Triple play, IP based Voice, data and video, IP based

lightening automation, IP based Building management system, in addition to RFID

and WI FI across the campus.

Allied Telesis has formulated a 10 year future proof plan for the convention

city which includes VOD Services, Digital Signage, IPTV on HD picture quality,

HVAC on IP, BMS, and Pool control and shutter management on IP.

The main challenges for the deployment of this project that Allied Telesis

faced were: Achieving Redundancy across the network-both geographical and

hardware redundancy at the central data center, proper bandwidth planning across

the network, interoperability with all the other third party services, security

policy management, and Convergence of various network resources. It has been a

substantial deployment that cost the company an estimated rupees 8.5 crores.
