LG's had a tough time competing in the smartphone arena with the likes of Samsung, Sony and HTC among others and now the reports of an LG branded tablet clearly suggest that the Korean company is looking to make use of the tablet market potential.

According to reports, it is believed that the much speculated LG G Pad tablet will sport an 8.3 inch full HD display and based on Android 4.2.2 or Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system.

The tablet will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU along with 2 GB RAM. Further details about the G Pad are yet to be revealed but it shouldn't be long before LG decides to make its bow in the tablet segment.

G Pad will be the company's latest product in its G brand line-up after LG G2 which was unveiled at a launch event earlier this month.
