After the Asus W5fe (reviewed Nov '07), LG Z2200 is the next to come with an
auxiliary display on the top of the lid. The concept of these auxiliary displays
evolved owing to the Vista Sideshow support within Vista. Unlike Asus, LG Z2200
has a much better design for the auxiliary display which blends well with the
lid design, rather than just being an additional attachment on the top. The
secondary display enables you to play and browse through your music collection,
watch slideshow, check mails, on the go without the need to switch on the
notebook. This is the first notebook in our hit list to come with an inbuilt ATI
Radeon HD 2400 graphics card.
Performance wise it is better than Asus W5fe, thanks to better RAM and
graphics processor. In PCMark it scored 2522 which is very good for a business
class notebook, but was less than that of Asus W5fe. In 3DMark it scored 1087
which is very good for a notebook GPU and much higher than that of Asus W5fe.
Also, you can enjoy all DirectX 10 games on ATI Radeon HD 2400. We played
'Company of Heroes' on it; though the performance was not outstanding, it still
managed a decent fps. Battery life of 3.15 hr is good for frequent travelers.
Bottomline: Overall a viable companion for all business executives, who
believe in carrying style with difference
