Logitech Cordless Presenter

New Update

Road warriors who are called upon to make public presentations will find this a very useful tool. It is a Bluetooth-enabled remote mouse that can run your presentations while you are away from reach of the notebook or PC, as is likely to happen during a lecture. The presenter acts as two devices in one, a cordless mouse for normal usage and a remote presenter with a laser pointer beam for making presentations. You choose between the two modes using a flip switch on the lower side. The same switch also powers the unit off, when not in use.

The Presenter communicates to your PC using Bluetooth. For this, a mini-receiver fits into a USB port on your machine. And as it uses Bluetooth, the receiver does not need to be in line of sight with the presenter itself, and can be at the back of the PC.

The Presenter has a nice ergonomic design and a smooth finish and is comfortable to hold. Adding a nice touch to the ergonomics part is the fact that the laser beam is operated by a switch on the underside that you can operate with any one of your fingers.

The installation is smooth, and on a Win 2K system, it was automatically recognized and installed once I inserted the mini receiver into the USB slot, and the presenter started working smoothly. For the mouse part to work properly, the accompanying software has to be installed. This is available for Windows and older versions of Mac OS only.

A great product to use, if you can get your company to buy one for you.
