The Problem: MKCL runs various in-house web based applications and projects for its customers. Each application or project resided on a separate web and database server. This led to a major problem where in the server resources across projects were not being shared. Whenever some project experienced resource crunch due to high client hits, the company was unable to use the resources which were idle on other servers because they were meant for other projects.

The Solution: A powerful and scalable Server Infrastructure was implemented for hosting the in-house web based applications for its clients. This server infrastructure which built the private cloud consists of servers with four quad core processors and 20GB RAMs. Server Virtualization for quick creation of virtual servers to facilitate instant allocation and high availability was also incorporated.

The Result: With this private cloud, they are able to maintain almost zero downtime of web applications, do resource sharing across virtual servers and provision virtual servers for new applications on the fly. It has allowed them to handle huge projects; the biggest amongst them was First Year Junior College Admissions for the Mumbai region.
