New Update

Having a Unified Communication setup has many benefits; travel cost savings

being one of the prime, as one can easily communicate using live meetings,

deliver improved customer satisfaction due to a fast information flow, which in

turn helps in quick decision making, less dependence on email communication,

elimination of multiple communication devices, etc. In view of all these

benefits M & M Ltd deployed Microsoft Office Communication Server along with

Microsoft Exchange Server for its 6000+ employees in different departments.

Before deployment of this project, most of the communication was done using

email which which led to mail management issues such as volume of emails

increasing with each passing day, plus with a multitude of offices at different

locations, the amount of money spent on telephone bills was very high.

This Unified Communication platform was able to address both these issues

effectively, and tasks that were carried out using this platform included remote

application training, getting real time updates from regional offices, idea

sharing, improved communication with the Research and Development team, and

reduction in communication costs. Major challenges faced in deploying this

solution included bandwidth support for voice\video, putting OCS client on user

machines, integration with Active Directory and end-user training. In future M &

M is going to integrate OCS with IP telephony, and Video Conferencing plus

enable unified messaging for all users.
