The Problem: Earlier, the vehicle inventory handling activity was mostly handled manually, by maintaining registers and one Excel file. With this, it was very difficult to maintain all the data and it was also difficult to track the vehicles. These activities are inherently quite complex in nature as it involves approvals from DGM and HOD of the requestor.

The Solution: The new system facilitates collaborative engagement of the R&D store team within M&M so as to contribute in delivering the project vehicles on time. The complete team can look at the status of the vehicles. The new system eliminates the non-value-added activities of the team by optimally automating - Vehicle transaction, vehicle approval process, vehicle absolution, vehicle declare for action status, overall status of all the available vehicles, to minimize and have good control over the vehicle inventory.

The Result: The new system provides all information from a single source. Nobody needs to store it in their desktop/laptop or any other place and also need not maintain any register or any Excel file. The new system secures information as per the business need and eliminates conflicts between the R&D team. It standardizes the processes for these activities and reduces the follow-up time as all the details are available in the system about a particular vehicle.
