New Update

The Problem: The existing process control network used to face major breakdowns due to frequent failures in the control network, which were primarily due to multiple stakeholders/ vendors handling discrete portions of the control network and the same were not visible to the shop owner. There was an absence of required security measures for login access and lack of mechanism to trace failures and device logs, with no time synchronization.

The Solution: They redesigned the entire architecture of their process control network. This has enabled time synchronization through central NTP Server; enabled password profiling through secure server; and enable routine device backup. All the devices were mapped on the central monitoring tool to ensure 24x7 uptime. The health status of all devices were reported daily to all the concerned key stakeholders. Hierarchy based privileged passwords were assigned on the devices.

The Result: The time taken for problem management, right from understanding and responding to it has reduced from 60 mins to less than 2 mins and further diagnosing and identifying the problem to complete fault finding to resolution was reduced from several hours to less than 1 hour.
