Although Mcafee IS 2014 has no addition of any new feature as far as its predecessor is concerned, but the features present are intact and work very nicely to provide security to your system.

Installation is absolutely hassle free. Dashboard is pretty neat and clean with four major tabs on the home screen- scheduling & running scan, web and email protection, checking for updates and status of your subscription. There is a status bar which displays the security status of system. Online backup
of free 1 GB is there to protect your most important files, which can be restored very easily. Shredder helps you protect your privacy by letting you permanently eliminate files that contain sensitive information. There are many other features for protecting home network, PC and children from ill-effects
of internet.

When I installed the software, it first looked for malware and discovered many threats from a virus folder that we had placed on the system, and removed them. It took about 1 hour to scan our 250 MB test folder containing over 27,000 files. Memory consumption fluctuated between 10-15MB during the
scanning process. In the EICAR test, McAfee blocked all files from being downloaded included double compressed files that contained the AV Test virus, which is quite exceptional. It also blocked all 25 zero day malicious
websites. In general, this is a very strong response from McAfee in all test cases, which is even better than Norton in some cases.
