MediaTek Dimensity 9300 CPU Clock Speeds Leak: Faster Than Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC?

Every year, MediaTek launches a new top smartphone chipset, and the Dimensity 9300 will likely be released soon. The next MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC will probably replace the Dimensity 9200 SoC, which powers handsets such as the Oppo Find N3 Flip and the Vivo X90 series. The Taiwanese semiconductor company has yet to announce details regarding the new chip. However, Dimensity 9300 frequency details have leaked online ahead of time. It is believed to use the 1+3+4 architecture and to be 10% quicker than Qualcomm’s anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9300 is expected to have four Cortex-X4 and four Cortex-A720 cores. Weibo user Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese) has proposed their clock speeds. According to the source, the new smartphone chip will include:

  • A prime CPU core with a maximum clock speed of 3.25GHz.
  • Three cores with a clock speed of 2.85GHz.
  • Four cores with a top clock speed of 2.0GHz.

The Dimensity 9300 is believed to be positioned as a direct competitor to Qualcomm’s yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The latter is considered to have a primary CPU core with a maximum clock speed of 3.19GHz, five cores with a top clock speed of 2.96GHz, and two cores with a maximum clock speed of 2.27GHz. According to the CPU clock speeds, the Dimensity 9300 will be 10% quicker than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC is also projected to be more efficient and perform better than the Dimensity 9200 SoC

The latter supports LPDDR5x memory and UFS 4.0 storage, as well as an Arm Cortex-X3 core running at 3.05GHz, three Arm Cortex-A715 cores running at 2.85GHz, and four Arm Cortex-A510 cores running at 1.8GHz. These CPU cores are manufactured on TSMC’s second-generation 4nm technology.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC powers the Oppo Find X6, Oppo Find N3 Flip, and Vivo X90 series. Meanwhile, the next Vivo X100 Pro+ will be powered by the Dimensity 9300 SoC.
