MediaTek’s upcoming premium mid-range chipset – Dimensity 8200 – have been in the rumours for a long time. Leaks were mostly about core configuration, clock speed and a couple of other details about the chipset, as per speculations.
MediaTek Dimensity 8200 launch date
However, MediaTek has finally announced the official launch date of the Dimensity 8200 chipset. The company has also dropped a new teaser poster of the chipset which confirms the launch date as December 1. Further, the teaser highlights the enhanced energy efficiency of the chipset.
MediaTek hasn’t officially revealed any details on the smartphones that are supposed to be powered by its upcoming chipset but several smartphones are likely to be powered by Dimensity 8200.
- iQoo has already teased its Neo 8 SE smartphone which is set to launch in the Chinese market a day after the chipset’s launch.
- The iQoo Neo 7 SE is anticipated to be the first smartphone to point Dimensity 8200 chipset. The smartphone is hoped to feature a6.78- inch full HD 120Hz AMOLED display, and a 5000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.
- Further, Redmi smartphones could enter with Dimensity 8200 chipset.
MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Specifications
The Dimensity 8200 could feature an octa-core setup with 4x Cortex A78 and 4x Cortex A55 cores.
As per the report, one Cortex A78 core will be clocked at 3.1 GHz, while the other three will be clocked at 3.0 GHz. The efficiency cores – Cortex A55 will be clocked at 2.0 GHz.
The chipset is also awaited to come with a Mali- G610 MC6 CPU, the same as the Dimensity 8100SoC.
