A low-cost wireless solution for homes and small office users. It's so easy
to configure that you can put it in your existing network or set it up
independently with equal ease. This device can be configured as in
point-to-point/Multi-point, repeater or WDS modes. Plus, it also provides WPA
and WEP for security. It also provides you with features like 'Mac Address
Filtering' that enables login for authorized Mac addresses only.
On the performance front, it showed average performance. We ran QCheck to
check its performance, which gave us a TCP throughput of 20 Mbps whereas the UDP
throughput was 16 Mbps. As compared to the Asus WL-520G wireless router
(reviewed April 2007 ), Micronet Wirless Router gave less throughput in TCP (22
Mbps) and UDP (19 Mbps). The response time for both TCP and UDP was 2 ms which
is average.

Further we transferred 50 MB data from its wireless network to a PC connected
to this device over a wired network, and it took us 48 seconds to do the data
transfer, whereas the Asus took only 34 seconds for the same job. For checking
the coverage of the wireless network, we placed a notebook at about 20 ft from
this device and the results were not satisfactory, as the throughput for both
TCP and UDP decreased by 3 Mbps which otherwise remained constant for Asus.
Bottomline: Being a low cost wireless router it is good for home users.
