Microsoft Surface Pro has got cheaper by $100 in the United States. The 64GB version of the tablet will cost $799 and its 128B variant will be priced at $899, as per reports.

The new price cuts have emerged following the 30 per cent slashing of Surface RT tablets’ price less than a month ago.

According to Microsoft, it has made $853 million revenues from Surface tablets so far, which is markedly lower than the $900 million it had to shell out for Surface RT inventory adjustments and the $898 million spent on Windows 8 and Surface advertising.

The Surface tablets, apparently, have not sold as well as Microsoft was expecting them to be, though the official figures are not forthcoming.

Microsoft might equip its Surface Pro with a Haswell processor, even as it is testing Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 processor.
