The company as promised "priced for all" has truly lived up to its word and with Moto E their target will surely be the first time smartphone buyers who will be offered high quality experience at an affordable price point. " With Moto E our aim is to connect millions of people and offer them the chance to move from basic feature phones to a device that offers the latest both in terms of software and hardware as compared to basic phones," said Magnus Ahlgvist, corporate vice president, EMEA & APAC, Motorola.

So what's the hoopla about Moto E? Well, for starters you have a 4.3 inch 960x540 pixels (256 ppi) Corning Glass 3 display and runs on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS, with guaranteed future updates as per Motorola. The phone packs a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 CPU clubbed with 1 GB RAM. The most interesting part about Moto E is its ability to expand storage. Unlike the Moto G and Moto X, the E comes with microSD slot that enables expansion of 4 GB to 32 GB. Speaking about the decision to include the memory slot, Marcus added, "We spoke to the consumers who highlighted the need for microSD slot on the devices and as per their inputs we have included one on the Moto E."

The phone supports Dual-SIM connectivity with Intuitive feature that enables taking calls on either of the SIM seamless. It comes fitted with a 5 MP touch-focus camera without LED flash and there is not front camera for selfies either. Motorola claims that with a 1980 mAh battery Moto E will last you through the course of day. Motorola has added Alert app to the device that facilitates offering location status, meet/follow me option and transmit emergency message when required.

All this and priced at 6,999, India is the first market to get Moto E starting from tonight midnight onwards via Flipkart, the exclusive seller of Motorola devices in India. You can avail special offers like; 50% off on 8 GB Transcend microSD card, 50% off on extra shell covers and E-books worth Rs 1000 by ordering the device on launch day.
