Motorola launches Edge 40 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 globally

Motorola has released the Edge 40 Pro, its most recent flagship model, for international markets. The Motorola Edge 40 Pro, a rebranded Moto X40, has the same hardware as the Moto X40, including a 165Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, and a 50MP triple camera, but it does not have the highly customizable skin designed for the Chinese market.

Motorola Edge 40 Pro Specifications

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1080p resolution, 165 Hz refresh rate, and other details.

Gorilla Glass Victus protection is included with the 2.5D curved sides of the display. There is a fingerprint sensor underneath the display. A 60MP selfie camera can be found inside the cutout with the punch hole at the center.

The Edge 40 Pro is less than 200 grams in weight and 8.6 millimeters thick. Additionally, the smartphone comes with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset from Qualcomm. The phone has 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage and 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The SIM card tray can hold two cards, but there is no storage expansion option.

The Edge 40 Pro comes with a 125W fast charger and a 4,600mAh battery that can charge the phone from 0% to 100% in 20 minutes. Additionally, wireless charging at 15 W and reverse wireless charging at 5 W are supported by the smartphone.

Information about the camera

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro has three cameras. There are two cameras with 50 megapixels: an essential with OIS and a 117-degree ultrawide with self-adjust. A third 12-megapixel telephoto camera with a 2x zoom completes the set.

Pricing and availability

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro is currently only available in Europe for €899.99 (roughly Rs 81,000). In the coming months, we anticipate the smartphone's introduction in India.
